THE COMPANY

Roden and Shenton aka New Art Club will compere the Cabaret at Greenwich Dance on Friday 3 February

Making a special appearance at British Dance Edition London 2012 to compere the cabaret at Greenwich Dance are Tom Roden and Pete Shenton aka New Art Club. Roden and Shenton are an award winning double act whose dance infused and art fuelled comedy shows have received critical and public acclaim for too many years. The fact that they are not more successful than they are is down to their stubborn refusal to cow tow to the ‘man’ and because they’re probably a bit too weird for some people (and perversely not weird enough for some others).  They tip toe along the dividing line between artiness and crowd-pleasing conviviality.

Performed and devised by Tom Roden and the older, smellier (yet strangely attractive) Pete Shenton their work is an unprecedented stream of intelligent comedy, inventive theatre and stupid mucking about. They add to the art world by continuing to dig a hole that started off as dance, then dance comedy and now comedy (but with dancing, but sometimes not much, and occasionally none).

They like making shows together and performing them in different countries including Wales and other ones.
