Candoco Dance Company is the contemporary dance company of disabled and non-disabled dancers. We create excellent and profound experiences for audiences and participants that excite, challenge and broaden perceptions of art and ability, are bold and unpredictable, and place people and collaboration at the heart.

We commission productions created by world class choreographers for national and international touring and deliver an extensive learning and development programme to provide broad access to the highest quality dance. We’re committed to enriching dance through our original work, bespoke training, advocacy and campaigning.

In 2011 the Company celebrated 20 years of innovation and creativity. Our ambitious commissioning strategy and commitment to excellence have formed the backbone of the company’s success, catapulting us into the mainstream dance world from the very beginning. We’ve worked with a broad range of choreographers from Siobhan Davies, Javier de Frutos and Fin Walker to Rafael Bonachela, Nigel Charnock and Emanuel Gat. Our productions are enjoyed by audiences worldwide and our leadership in high quality professional inclusive practice is demonstrated in the demand for our work.

Candoco Dance Company adds its unique signature to this unforgettable work, originally choreographed on a cast of non-disabled dancers. Using the original concepts from Trisha Brown’s playful choreography, Laurie Anderson’s contagious score and designs inspired by Robert Rauschenberg’s beautiful originals, Candoco has revived this classic audience favourite. Set and Reset/Reset follows Brown’s original instructions from 1983: keep it simple, act on instinct, stay on the edge, work with visibility and invisibility, and get in line, to create a new work that is a combination of the original and the Candoco dancers’ choreography.

Set and Reset/Reset was premiered in 2011 as part of the company’s 20th anniversary programme.
